Toastmasters provides a friendly, supportive environment for members to learn, practice and polish communication and leadership skills.
Every club conducts meetings that include:
- Prepared speeches, impromptu speeches, and evaluations
- Supporting meeting roles
- Communication and leadership workshops
- Speech contests
- Networking opportunities
Actively participate in any of the above functions to gain confidence as a speaker and leader, and have fun at the same time!
While attending meetings and serving in the various meeting roles helps build the essential skills to be successful, serving as a Club Officer will help further enhance your leadership skills. There is a great variety of roles that will help you develop specific skills. Learn more here!

Even if you’re already a Toastmasters member, step outside of your comfort zone to visit and even join other clubs to grow your network, practice in front of a different audience, and learn new skills. Consider becoming a Club Ambassador as you visit other clubs through our Club Ambassador Program!
District 101 offers many great events during the year.
Club Officer Training (COT): Attend a Club Officer Training to learn more about various Officer roles. Find out about upcoming trainings on the Training page.
Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI): This is the premier educational opportunity for Toastmasters’ Club Officers as well as all members to come together to network, share ideas, and be inspired. It’s where club officers receive training on how to best serve their clubs, and every Toastmaster can expand their skills as a communicator and a leader with additional educational sessions. Special Workshops: Throughout the year, we host workshops on various topics that benefit our members. Find details about upcoming workshops on the GREAT Events page.
Contests: Contests are once a year at a Club, Area and Division level. These may include Humorous Speech Contests, Evaluation Contests, Table Topics Contests & International Speech Contests. Come and experience a contest near you. Find out more on the Contest page.
